Growing in Faith Together = G.I.F.T.
Our Parish uses the Generations of Faith format, which we call G.I.F.T; or "Growing in Faith Together". This in an intergenerational approach to Faith Formation, that involves the entire parish. Our gatherings are held twice a month on Sunday and Monday evenings. Come and experience fellowship while refreshing and deepening your understanding of our Catholic Faith, Traditions, Symbols, and Rituals.
Theme for 2011 = Morality
Each month has a new topic, and each topic has to do with the theme of that year. This year, 2011, our theme is "Morality". What is your take on morality? How does morality fit in with the Church? One of the definitions listed in Merriam-Webster is:
"a doctrine or system of moral conduct"
But did you know that simply because something is legal it doesn't mean its moral? Or even the other way around, simply because its moral doesn't mean its legal. If you haven't come to GIFT any other year, why don't you start this year. We think this going to be an interesting theme.
September. 11th & 12th
We will start this years GIFT program off with a memorial service in honor of the ten year anniversary of 9/11 and continue with an introduction to the GIFT program for the upcoming year.
October 16th & 17th
The tough stuff on the dignity of human life. We will also be doing our first of four sessions about the new Roman Missal.
November 6th & 7th
Matthew 5:1-11, as well as our second session about the new Roman Missal.
December 4th & 5th
Session number three about the new Roman Missal.
January 8th & 9th
Session number four in our series about the new Roman Missal.
February 5th & 6th
The grace of turning one's own heart.
March 11th & 12th
Putting on the Mind of Christ.
April 22th & 23th
Through your Rearview Mirror! A review of all that we learned through out this years program.
